The Leadership Team Dynamics Program

“We are what we repeatedly do… excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

— Interpreted from Aristotle by Will Durant

Leadership Team Dynamics builds skills and creates behaviors that establish trust, psychological safety, and stronger connections on the leadership team and across the organization. The result is an agile team-of-teams who collaborate better, innovate faster, and outperform the competition.

The program framework has five elements. We begin with building a foundation of vital soft skills, then focus on creating effective team dynamics with team coaching. We complement the teamwork with individual executive coaching to foster personal and professional development. Continuous stakeholder feedback and measuring relationship strength provide evidence of progress and insights for coaching.

Element 1. Foundations

During three 2-hour Foundations workshops, we connect the dots between neurobiology, psychology, and the techniques and tools that create trust, psychological safety, and strong connections on and across teams.

  • Clarifying Purpose, aligning Values, and revealing Norms.
  • Coaching Motivation, inspiring Goal Pursuit, and leading Change.
  • Managing Team and Cross-Team dynamics.

Element 2. Gaps & Nudges Workshop

The Gaps & Nudges Workshop focuses on understanding and managing team dynamics. We start by identifying experience-expectation gaps on the leadership team. Then the team works together to prioritize those gaps and behavior changes that will close those them.

Element 3. Leadership Huddles

Team coaching continues the learning and growth journey. Monthly Huddles begin with a retrospective of progress towards closing experience-expectation gaps and improving team and cross-team dynamics across the organization.

We use TrustMetryx software to provide feedback and measurement for coaching and reinforcing behavior change.

Element 4. Executive Coaching

Individual Coaching complements the team coaching, focusing on inspiring personal and professional potential.

Dr. Hurley uses a stakeholder-based approach to engage each executive in a thought-provoking, data driven process. He develops behaviors and coaching skills that positively impact the executive, leadership team, and organization.

The 5th Element. Continuous Measurement & Feedback

Putting Hard Metrics on the Soft Stuff

We use our proprietary TrustMetryx™ software to measure how leader behavior and team dynamics affect people’s work experience and performance.

Dr. Hurley uses TrustMetryx feedback to dynamically steer coaching conversations and incorporate nudges that drive behavior change into day-to-day work.

Program ROI: Measurable, Observable Results

  • Consistent TrustMetryx Relationship Strength Scores (RSS) of 80+ within the leadership team, across teams, and with key stakeholders
  • Stakeholder feedback specific to meeting skills and behavior change goals.
  • Feedback that managers are demonstrating greater EQ and collaboration across the organization.
  • Coaching expectations are being met.
